Course Description:
The basic concepts presented in I-200 are expanded and discussed in detail. The single command organization is stressed and students will be exposed to resource management and the role and function of each ICS position, including air operations. Through a series of small group exercises students will be provided examples of how the essential system principles and components are used in incident planning.
Note: this course is POST certified for State of Nevada commissioned officers.
Course Objectives:
This course provides training on use of multiple resources who require application of the Incident Command System (ICS) during expanding incidents. This course expands upon information covered in the IS-100 and IS-200 courses.
Prerequisites:
Students must have completed all of the prerequisite FEMA Independent Study courses before registering for the course.
• IS-100 - An Introduction to the Incident Command System (IS100) • IS-200 - Basic Incident Command System for Initial Response (IS200) • IS-700 - An Introduction to the National Incident Management System (IS700) • IS-800 - National Response Framework, an Introduction (IS800)

Target Audience:
Individuals who may assume a supervisory role in incidents. Note: During a Type 3 incident, some or all of the Command and General Staff positions may be activated, as well as Division/Group Supervisor and/or Unit Leader level positions. These incidents may extend into multiple operational periods.
Student materials will no longer be provided for any classes sponsored by the Nevada Division of Emergency Management. Once a student is accepted into a course, it will be the student's responsibility to download/print the documents themselves and bring them to class. If you encounter an issue in accessing these materials, it will be the student's responsibility to contact the course Point of Contact (POC) before the course begins.
Laptops - You may choose to use and encouraged to bring your laptop computer or other electronic device as you may want to access the internet in order to look up info needed to complete some of the exercise scenarios.
Pre-Class Assignments:
G-300 is an Intermediate ICS course. Students who do not regularly use ICS may be challenged. Please review the IS100, 200, 700 & 800 material prior to the course. Independent Study Courses can be found at: https://training.fema.gov/nims
Enrollment:
Students must have a FEMA Student Identification Number (SID) to access the class. To obtain a SID number or if you have forgotten your SID number, follow this link: https://cdp.dhs.gov/FEMASID/
Upload prerequisite certificates and register for the course. If the prerequisites are not included on the student's training portal transcripts, it is the student's responsibility to upload the certificates of completion when registering for the course. Students will not be approved for the course if the prerequisites are not included in the student's training portal.

Notes:
Students should attend all sessions of the course and be prepared to interact in course activities. Credit for course completion will not be granted if more than 20 percent of the course is missed. You must notify NDEM Training Staff or Lead Instructor if you expect to miss any course sessions.
If a student is unable to attend for which he/she is registered, it is the responsibility of the student to withdraw from the course on the training portal at least seven (7) days prior to the start of the course. Failure to timely withdraw from the course may result in the student being limited from registering for future classes. Withdrawals less than 7-days prior to the start of the course will be permitted for a documented emergency that is approved by the training supervisor.

Please provide details on the accommodation you are requesting.
